Hall of Champions
Fifer earned All-Missouri Valley Conference honors in 1976 and 1977. He helped lead the team to a MVC Championship in 1977. He earned outstanding Lineman honors in 1977 and was an Associated Press All-America selection in 1977.
He played in the East-West Shrine Game in 1977 and was drafted in the fourth round by the Detroit Lions in 1978. Fifer played in the NFL from 1978-1981 for the Lions, New Orleans Saints and the Seattle Seahawks.
Following his stint in the NFL, Fifer returned to Canyon and coached the Buffs from 1982-1985 under head coach Don Davis. Fifer was inducted into the Tivy High School Hall of Fame in Kerrville, Texas, in 1996.
