DALLAS, Texas  – The West Texas A&M women's soccer team allowed three second half goals in its 4-0 loss to Dallas Baptist on Saturday. Cecily Martinez scored the game winner in the eighth minute before Ashley Cox added a brace in the 56th minute. Ericca Everson and Bailee Berry added goals in the 80th and 90th minutes to hand WT its worse loss this season.
 
DBU jumped to the early lead in the seventh minute when Martinez scored her first goal of the season. Haley Girard nearly tied the match in the 33rd minute on a header but was denied Jenna Ackerly. Alejendra Dockery and Khadidra Debesette both had shots go wide in the first half. The Lady Buffs held a 8-5 shot advantage in the first half.
 
Cox's brace in the 56th minute forced WT to push more players in the attacking end which resulted in giving up two more goals later in the half. Everson and Berry both scored their first goals of the season to put the match out of reach.
 
TURNING POINT
Martinez's goal in the 8th minute was her first career goal.
