CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M closed their regular season on a high-note as they left Edmond, Oklahoma with a 2-0 Lone Star Conference shutout victory of the Oklahoma Christian Eagles at Eagle Soccer Field.
The first period commenced with WT establishing an offensive presence early on.
Alicia Cohen's attempt on goal in the 9th minute was saved by Oklahoma Christian's goalkeeper, Breanna Wooten.
Lawrencia Yeboah added pressure with two efforts, although both shots were off target.
Defensively,
Franciezca Blancaflor made crucial saves to thwart OC's attempts, maintaining a scoreless tie. Despite several corner opportunities and sustained pressure, the Lady Buffs went into halftime with the score remaining 0-0.
The second period began with West Texas A&M making a significant impact early on. In the 48th minute,
