GAME NOTES
CANYON, Texas - The West Texas A&M women's soccer team returns to Lone Star Conference play this week after dismantling Texas A&M-International, 8-0, on Monday afternoon at The Pitch. The Lady Buffs will first travel to San Angelo for a showdown with the No. 6 Angelo State Rambelles on Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. WT will then travel to Midwestern State on Oct. 4 at 1 p.m.

SCOUTING NO. 6 ANGELO STATEThe Rambelles suffered their first loss of the season against Texas A&M-Commerce, 1-0, last weekend. ASU bounced back to beat Texas Woman's on Sunday afternoon, 2-0. ASU owns a home record of 2-0 so far this season outscoring their opponents 12-2 in those matches.
The Rambelles will provide a lot of pressure on the Lady Buffs defense with the presence of Sierra Anderson and Haley Mendel. Anderson leads the team with 14 points (five goals, four assists) while Mendel is second with 12 poings (five goals, two assists). ASU has features a pair of substitutes who have proven lethal coming off the bench, Demi Tsambasis (four goals) and Tiffany Deng (three goals).
ASU have played three different players between the pipes so far this season but look for Shantel Wittke to see most of the action this weekend. Wittke has a record of 4-1-1 and three shutouts. Her .570 goals against average is second in the LSC.
WEST TEXAS A&M VS. ANGELO STATE - THE SERIES+ WT leads the all-time series against ASU, 15-10-5.
+ The Rambelles have won four of the last five meetings.
+ ASU won both meetings last year by a combined score of 5-0.
SCOUTING MIDWESTERN STATEThe Mustangs will look to bounce back after losing to Texas Woman's and a tie with A&M Commerce last weekend. MSU beat a pair of RMAC schools (Colorado Mesa and No. 13 Colorado-Colorado Springs) earlier in the season but have only won one match since.
Aly Wade and Desinee Williamson lead the team with two goals each. Wade leads the team with five points (two goals, one assist) and is second in shots (20).
The Mustangs have outscored their opponents, 9-5, while only allowing one goal in the second half. Courtney Burnette has started all seven matches in net for MSU. Her four shutouts is top in the LSC while her.690 goals against average ranks third.
WEST TEXAS A&M VS. MIDWESTERN STATE- THE SERIES+ MSU leads the all-time series against WT, 18-16-2.

+ The two teams split the season series last season with both teams winning at home.
SCOUTING THE LADY BUFFSHead Coach
Chad Webb enters the weekend with an overall record of 1-7-2 against teams ranked in the top 25. The lone victory came against Rollins on Sep. 4, 2010, in Webb's first match as head coach.
WT enters the first full weekend of conference play having won four of their last five matches. In those four wins, they have outscored their opponents 13-1. In their four losses, the Lady Buffs have been outscored 10-0.
Khadidra Debesette has led the resurgence having scored six goals in five matches, including a school-record four against TAMUI. Debesette ranks 34th in the nation with two game winning goals.
Defensively, the Lady Buffs are led by center back
Khadisha Debesetter and goalkeeper
Courtney Dippel. Dippel leads the team with with three wins and 1.5 shutouts.
LONE STAR IN THE POLLSAngelo State is the lone LSC school ranked in the Sept. 29 NSCAA Top 25 poll.The Belles moved up one spot from last week and are ranked sixth while Texas A&M-Commerce received votes.
