CANYON, Texas - The Lady Buffs sit in fifth place in the Lone Star Conference standings having lost three of their last four matches heading into the final week of the regular season. They will look to get back on track against Lubbock Christian and Eastern New Mexico. WT will host the Lady Chaps on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. at The Pitch. WT will then host ENMU on Senior Night on Friday, Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m.

SCOUTING LUBBOCK CHRISTIANThe Lady Chaps enter the week having lost two consecutive matches for the first time all season. Before those two setbacks to nationally-ranked Dallas Baptist and St. Edward's, LCU had won six straight matches.
LCU has six players that have scored four goals or more on the season with Brooke Wendl leading the team with nine. Wendl leads the team in nearly ever statistical category including points (23), shots (68) and shots on goal (41). Kate O'Gara is second on the team in goals (four), assists (four) and points (12). As a team, the Lady Chaps have outscored their opponents 38-24 in 15 matches this season.
Leslie Castellano has started 11 matches this season with six wins and two shutouts. Castellano has made a total of 30 saves with 85 shots faced.
LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN VS WEST TEXAS A&M - THE SERIES+ WT leads the all-time series against LCU, 1-0-0.
+ The Lady Buffs won the first and only meeting, 1-0, on Sept. 17, 2013.
SCOUTING EASTERN NEW MEXICOThe Greyhounds enter the week having lost nine of their last 11 matches including nine straight in conference play.
Melissa Carnero and Morgan Fairbanks led the team with three goals a piece. Carnero also ranks first in points (eight) and assists (two).
Both Karissa Stinson and Cristian Escobedo have split time between the pipes this season. Stinson has the better save percentage (.769), goals against average (1.44) and wins (three) during her eigth starts in goal.
EASTERN NEW MEXICO VS. WEST TEXAS AM – THE SERIES+ WT leads the all-time series against the Greyhounds, 11-6-1.
+ The Lady Buffs hold an all-time record of 6-1-1 at home against ENMU.
+ WT defeated ENMU, 2-1, on Sept. 23 in Portales, N.M.
SCOUTING THE LADY BUFFSThe Lady Buffs struggles in the second half continued this past weekend in losses to Texas A&M-Commerce and Texas Woman's. They enter the week on a three match losing streak and an overall record of 6-9-1 and 3-5-1 in conference play.
During their first meeting this season, the Lady Buffs defeated ENMU behind two first half goals from
Rachel Herring and Debesette to erase a 1-0 deficit. It was the first time WT had beaten the Greyhounds in Portales since 2012.
Khadidra Debesette extended her team lead in points (16) with an assist on
Lucy Chalgren's goal against TWU.
Karyn Forbes moved into second in goals (three) and points (eight) with her goal against TAMUC.
The Lady Buffs have continued to play well in the first half outscoring their opponents 14-8 in the first 45 minutes. The second half has been the total opposite with WT being outscored 16-6 including 8-1 in conference matches. Three of their five conferences losses have come by goals in the second half.
SENIOR NIGHTHaley Girard and
Emily Krenek will both be honored before Friday's match against ENMU.
Girard, a native of Amarillo, Texas, will finish her career with the Lady Buffs having scored five goals and tallying four assists. She was a four year starter for the Lady Buffs.
Krenek, a native of Belton, Texas, will finisher her career having scored 12 goals and six assists for 30 career points. She was named to the Daktronics First-Team All-Region team as a junior.
LONE STAR IN THE POLLSAngelo State is the lone LSC team ranked in the NSCAA Top 25 poll for the third week in a row. The Rambelles defeated Midwestern State, 4-0, last week and moved up one spot ot No. 3.
NEXT UPThe Lady Buffs will take part in the Lone Star Conference Soccer Championships next Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Angelo State only needs to win one of its remaining two matches to clinch the regular season title and host the tournament.
