CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M Track & Field picked up four individual titles on Thursday during the opening day of the 2025 Lone Star Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Al Whitehead Field at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium in Portales, New Mexico.

Allen Henderson started off the day strong for the Buffs, winning the 100m, 400m and high jump to sit atop of the standings for the men's decathlon with 3,763 points.
Mara Andritsch scored 2,900 points thru four events during the women's heptathlon to sit first followed by
Kailee Benton in 2
nd (2,895).

Meadow Gallentine registered a third-place finish in the women's hammer throw with a mark of 52.64m followed by
Hope Gray in fifth (51.11m).
Bella Kenney tallied a mark of 3.20m to finish tied for fifth in the pole vault.

Leidy Cuesta claimed the first LSC Title of the opening day for the Lady Buffs in the women's triple jump as the freshman from Columbia registered a mark of 12.50m on her first attempt to win the event followed by
Audrey Uzoukwu in second (12.15m).

The Lady Buffs registered the top four times in the women's 1,500m to qualify all four for the finals led by
Sarah Koomson (4:38.30) followed by
Abigail Abugire (4:39.82),
Eliette Chaput (4:41.25) and
Kalkidan Vincendeau (4:42.03).

The men's 1,500m saw
Aziz Mohammed run a time of 4:09.07 followed by
Calvin Allen (4:05.74) and
Shane Ketchum (4:11.43) to punch their ticket to the finals.
Troy Whyte (13.80) and
Romet Vahter (14.27) qualified for the finals of the men's 110m hurdles as Whyte's mark tied the 7th fastest time in school history.

Khalil Bedoui picked up a victory in the men's hammer throw with a mark of 57.37m for the sixth best throw in program history followed by
Luke Holcombe finishing second with a throw of 53.03m.
Anas Fadil finishes second in the men's triple jump (15.23m) followed by Manual Cuesta in 3rd (15.19m) and
Gael Chavez Robles in 5th (14.76m).

A trio of Lady Buffs punch their ticket to the women's 200m finals:
Peace Nwaelehia (23.70),
Blessing Akintoye (23.85) and
Deborah Acheampong (23.99). The Buffs registered the three fastest time in the men's 200m prelims with
James Dadzie (20.86),
Jerry Jakpa (20.95) and
Isaac Botsio (21.15) advancing to the finals.

Spencer Keys picked up a fifth-place finish in the men's pole vault with a mark of 4.44m followed by
Romet Vahter tied for 6
th(4.44m) and
Lance Ottinger in 8
th (4.44m).

Naomi Addo took home the LSC Championship in the women's 10K with a time of 36:36.12 followed by
Elise Leveel in 2
nd(36:57.77),
Julie Lafare in 4
th (37:23.42) and
Lexi Maul in 5
th (37:34.77).
William Amponsah cruised to a victory in the men's 10K with a time of 30:51.63 followed by
Adrian Legarreta in 2
nd (31:21.80) and
Dennis Cheruiyot in 3
rd (31:38.77).

The Lady Buffs registered 60.50 points on opening day to sit atop of the team leaderboard followed by Angelo State (53), Midwestern State (15), Lubbock Christian (11) and Eastern New Mexico (7) to round out the top five. The WT men's squad had 67.50 points on Thursday to sit ahead of Angelo State (35.50), Texas A&M-Kingsville (24), Oklahoma Christian (9) and DBU/Lubbock Christian (5).
