WT Ready for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships

CANYON, TEXAS – West Texas A&M Track & Field sends 27 student-athletes to Emporia, Kansas this weekend for the 2027 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships being held at Francis G. Welch Stadium.

The Lady Buffs are ranked 2nd in the USTFCCCA Outdoor T&F Index entering the weekend with the Buffs sitting 6th.
 
Matt Stewart is in his ninth season leading the storied West Texas A&M Track & Field program, winning the Lone Star Conference Outdoor Women's Coach of the Year honors for the sixth straight season. Stewart and the Lady Buffs won the Outdoor Track & Field National Championship in 2017 and 2022.
 
The Lady Buffs send 16 student-athletes to Emporia while the Buffs qualified 11 for the NCAA Championships.
