Esther Conde-Turpin holds the lead after four events of the women's heptathlon at the conclusion of the opening day at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Emporia, Kansas.

The French product won the 100m hurdles (13.41) and the high jump (1.72m) to start the heptathlon on her way to 3,593 points on the opening day, her mark in the 100m hurdles is the second best in program history.

Eliette Chaput registered a season-best mark of 10:30.88 in the women's 3,000m steeplechase to finish sixth in the prelims, advancing to the finals with the eighth fastest time in program history.

Emiliia Tangara continued her impressive freshman campaign with a time of 57.33 in the prelims of the women's 400m hurdles, tallying the sixth-best mark in school history and the top qualifying time in the field.
Asana Hamidu also punched her ticket to the finals with a mark of 59.04 to finish third in the prelims.

The final women's event of the night saw
Naomi Addo run a 34:21.02 in the 10K as the sophomore finished as the National Runner-Up while teammate
Kalkidan Vincendeau ran a personal-best time of 34:36.96 to claim All-American accolades in seventh overall.Â

Nikolas Kosmopoulos leads the WT multi-group with 3,817 points highlighted by a third-place finish in the 400m (49.11).

WT's 4x100m relay squad of
Jace Lynch,
James Dadzie,
Kareem Small and
Isaac Botsio finished third in the prelim (39.75) to punch their ticket to the finals. Botsio also qualified for the 100m finals with a mark of 10.45 to finish sixth in the prelims.
