CANYON, TEXAS – West Texas A&M closed out their season on Saturday as they finished eighth overall at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Francis G. Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kansas.
The Buffs finished the meet with 35 points highlighted by 14 in the decathlon and 10 in the 100m dash where
Isaac Botsio won his seventh National Championship in a WT uniform with a time of 10.07.
Oyeyoni Oyewale-Johnson finished 11
th in the men's triple jump with a mark of 15.14m on his opening attempt. The 4x100m relay squad of
Jace Lynch,
James Dadzie,
Kareem Small and Botsio picked up All-American honors in the 4x100m relay with a time of 39.71 to finish fourth overall.
Mahmoud Ibrahim registered a 17
th place finish in the men's shot put (16.71m) while
Emil Meggle earned All-American accolades in the 800m (1:49.62) to finish sixth. Dadzie would run a 20.99 in the 200m final to finish sixth overall and earn All-American honors.
