CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M Track & Field resumes their indoor season on Saturday as they head to Albuquerque, New Mexico to take part in the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Collegiate Invitational hosted by the University of New Mexico at the Albuquerque Civic Center.

The Buffs and Lady Buffs originally planned to send full squads to Albuquerque but transportation issues caused a change on Friday afternoon, now only the throwers for the Buffs and Lady Buffs will compete.Â

West Texas A&M Indoor Track & Field has been honored for their efforts this past weekend as they swept the weekly Lone Star Conference Athlete of the Week Awards announced on Tuesday afternoon by the league's offices in Richardson, Texas.

USTFCCA INDOOR NATIONAL TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Oreva was also honored by the United State Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as the Ughelli, Nigeria was named the National Field Athlete of the Week. The freshman from Ughelli, Nigeria took over the top spot in the country in the men's Long Jump with a mark of 25-4.75 (7.74m) to hit a DII provisional mark and shatter the WT school record. The Carson-Newman transfer now holds three different marks inside of the All-Time DII Top-30 including Saturday's 7.74m which ranks tied for 26th.
