CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M Track & Field set three new school records this past weekend as the distance crew competed at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California.

Thursday saw a pair of Lady Buffs meet provisional marks in the 10K as
Naomi Addo ran a 34:19.16 to finish 14
th overall followed by
Kalkidan Vincendeau in 22
nd (34:39.55). Vincendeau would also finish 61
st in the 1,500m with a time of 4:29.75.

Tobias Ritter would close out Thursday evening with a 10
th place finish in his heat of the men's 10K with a time of 29:27.56 to hit an NCAA provisional.
Fintan Kavanagh ran a time of 14:32.51 on Friday morning during the men's 5,000m while
Tommaso Toppi finished 14
th in his 5K race with a mark of 14:26.38.

Abigail Abugire impressed the Track & Field world on Friday evening, running the second fastest time in NCAA Division II women's outdoor history in the 800m with a mark of 2:01.79 to win the women's invite division of the race that featured 134 runners.
Sierra Cornell would finish 100
th in the race with a provisional mark of 2:09.37.

Emil Meggle would break the second school record of the day in the invite division of the men's 800m with a time of 1:47.72 to finish eighth overall.
Adrian Solis claimed a 60
th place finish in the open division of the 800m with a time of 1:51.94. Solis would also finish 37
th in the 1,500m open with a mark of 3:56.00.

Abugire closed out the weekend with her second school record of the meet, running a 4:13.03 to top the previous WT record by over 11 seconds to finish fourth in the invite division of the 1,500m.
Sarah Koomson also tallied a provisional mark of 4:23.78 in the 1,500m and a 16:28.33 in the 5K.

Emiliia Tangara's selection to the Mt. Sac Relays 400m hurdles competition put the freshman on the national stage, running the second fastest time in WT outdoor history (56.50) to finish second overall in the elite division race.

The Buffs and Lady Buffs close out their regular season outdoor schedule on Friday and Saturday as they travel to Waco, Texas to take part in the Michael Johnson Invite hosted by Baylor University.
