CANYON, Texas – The top-seeded and Lone Star Conference Champion Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M make their 23rd appearance in the LSC Championship Game on Sunday afternoon as they take on third-seeded #10 Texas A&M-Commerce at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas with tipoff set for 3:30 p.m.

The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M kept their trip to Frisco, Texas going for one more day as
Zamorye Roberts and
Lauren Taylor scored 18 points each to send WT to the Lone Star Conference Championship game with a 63-58 victory over #14 Lubbock Christian at the Comerica Center.
Lauren Taylor led the way for the Lady Buffs as the junior went 6-of-9 from the floor including 2-of-3 from deep and 4-of-6 from the free throw line to tie a team-high with 18 points to go along with seven rebounds, four assists and two steals.
A LOOK AT THE LIONS
Texas A&M-Commerce enters the Championship Sunday with an overall record of 26-3 as they finished tied for second in the LSC standings with a mark of 12-3. The Lions punched their ticket to the LSC Title Game on Saturday night with a 58-52 victory over the UT Tyler Patriots in Frisco.
The Lions are led offensively by LSC Player of the Year Dyani Robinson as the sophomore from Cypress has gone 171-of-412 (41.5%) from the floor including 36-of-109 (33.0%) from behind the arc and 86-of-107 (80.4%) from the free throw line to average 16.0 points per game to go along with 127 rebounds, 104 assists, 31 steals and four blocks.
TAMUC HEAD COACH JASON BURTON
Jason Burton is now in his eighth season at the helm of the Texas A&M-Commerce women's basketball program as he holds an overall record of 156-69 during his time in East Texas. He has led the Lions to three consecutive NCAA Tournaments while also becoming TAMUC's all-time wins leader. The Plano native came to Commerce in 2014 following two seasons as a men's assistant at Texas State and one year as the men's coach at McKinney Boyd High School.
WT HEAD COACH JOSH PROCK
Josh Prock was introduced as WT's new head coach on June 2, 2021. Prock is no stranger to the Lone Star Conference as he spent eight seasons as the head coach at Eastern New Mexico leading the Greyhounds to their only three NCAA Tournament appearances in program history. Over the past four seasons in Portales, he accumulated a record of 77-41 including ENMU's first LSC Championship in program history in 2016-17 where he was named the league's Coach of the Year.

West Texas A&M is home to one of the finest multi-purpose facilities in the country as the First United Bank Center has served as the home of the Lady Buffs since January 26, 2002. The Lady Buffs are a staggering 257-37 inside of the FUBC during that time for a winning clip of 87.2%. WT has averaged 1,029 fans per contest since the facility opened its doors with the largest crowd coming on Opening Night with 4,941 members of Buff Nation seeing the Lady Buffs take on rival Abilene Christian.
LADY BUFFS IN THE LSC CHAMPIONSHIP
The Lady Buffs are in the Lone Star Conference Championship for the 29th straight campaign and the 34th overall time which is the most of any LSC institutions. WT is 60-18 all-time at the LSC Championship for a winning percentage of 76.9%. The Lady Buffs have made 23 appearances in the Title Game with 15 Championships since 1987.
SOUTH CENTRAL REGIONAL RANKINGS
Texas A&M-Commerce sits atop of the rankings followed by Lubbock Christian, Texas Woman's, Colorado Mesa, West Texas A&M, Colorado School of Mines, Westminster, Colorado State-Pueblo, MSU Denver and Angelo State.
The top eight teams in the South Central Region will take part in the Regional Tournament taking place on March 11-14 at the top overall seed, the winners of the two conference tournaments (LSC, RMAC) will receive an automatic bid into the postseason with the last six spots being filled by at-large selections.

West Texas A&M is home to one of the most successful athletic programs in all of NCAA Division II. The 2020-21 season saw WT claim seven LSC Regular Season Championships, three LSC Tournament Titles, three Regional Championships, four Top-three track & field finishes, a men's basketball national title game appearance and the 2021 NCAA Division II Softball National Championship.
LSC AWARDS BANQUET
Three members of the Lone Star Conference Champion Lady Buffs were honored for their efforts on the hardwood on Wednesday night during the annual LSC Women's Basketball Awards Banquet held in Frisco, Texas.

Zamorye Roberts picked up All-LSC Second Team honors while Motschenbacher was also named to the league's All-Defensive Team.
