CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M have been selected for their 30th NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Championship announced on Sunday night during the annual online selection show on NCAA.com.
The Lady Buffs are the second seed in the South Central Region as they will take on seventh-seeded UT Tyler on Friday. LSC Regular Season and Tournament Champion Texas Woman's is the top seed and host at Kitty Magee Arena in Denton, Texas.
WT is 42-28 all-time in the NCAA Tournament with the 43 wins ranking fifth all-time in NCAA Division II and fourth among active Division II schools.
The Lady Buffs have claimed eight Regional Championships with two appearances in the National Finals since the 1986-87 campaign. In the last nine NCAA tournament appearances for WT, the Lady Buffs are 20-9 during the stretch with four South Central Regional Championships and an appearance in the 2014 Division II National Title Game.
The 2026 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Elite Eight will take place on March 24-28 at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
