SECOND HALF SURGE
The Lady Buffs have outscored opponents 7-1 in the LSC Championships with all seven goals coming in the second half.

Following their 3-1 comeback over Texas Woman's, WT put four goals past Texas A&M-Commerce in the final 45 minutes of regulation to advance to Saturday's semifinal against the top ranked team in the country.

Emily Avila opened the scoring for the Lady Buffs with a powerful free kick in the 48th minute after a foul from the Lions just outside the penalty area. Hannah Kelley-Lusk scored her eighth of the season in the 54th minute following nice build up play from Calista Cordero and Noir Hawash.

Hawash then single handedly secured the Lady Buffs spot in the semis with two goals in the span of four minutes, both coming on assists from Jessica Diaz.

A LOOK AT NO. 1 DBU
DBU is 11-0-1 overall and ranked first in the latest edition of the United Soccer Coaches (USC) NCAA Division II Top 25.

The Patriots have won three straight matches by a combined scored of 8-1 after their only blemish of the season, a 2-2 draw against Oklahoma Christian.

Ashley Merrill has scored in every game that she has played in during her short college career. The Frisco native has found the back of the net 16 times including five assists for 37 points.

The Patriots have 36 assists on 40 goals with Kaci Parks contributing a team-high nine assists giving her 23 for her career. Delaney Schmidt has also scored six goals with five assists.

A LOOK BACK AT THE LAST MEETING
In their second match of the season, WT dropped a heartbreaker to DBU in overtime on Feb. 24 in Dallas.

Mandy Stricker's wonder strike in the 88th minute canceled out Merrill's first half goal to send the game into overtime. DBU would find the golden goal in the 93rd minute on Merrill's second goal of the game.

THE SERIES
The Lady Buffs are 3-7-1 all-time against the Patriots with their last win coming on Sept, 23, 2010. Saturday will mark their second-ever meeting in the postseason as they tied 0-0 in the 2018 Regional Final with WT prevailing 5-4 on penalty kicks.

FINISHING ON A HIGH NOTE
Cordero is playing some of the best soccer of her career at the moment as the senior from Albuquerque, N.M. has recorded career bests in goals, assists and points in just nine games.

She ranks second on the team in goals with four while dishing out five assists, one more than she had in the previous three years combined.

IT'S BEEN TOO LONG
Hawash scored multiple goals in the same game for the second time in her career on Tuesday and first since netting a hat trick against UT Permian Basin in 2017.

When she found the back of the net in the 59th minute against A&M-Commerce, it marked the first time she had found the back of the net since Sept. 28, 2018.

ONE MINUTE AWAY FROM HISTORY
Cheyenne Orozco is one minute away from becoming the Lady Buffs all-time leader in minutes played. The 2018 LSC Defensive Player of the Year has started in 71 games during her four-year career is currently tied with Lindsay McHorse with 6,551 minutes.

SHOOT, SCORE, RINSE, REPEAT
Orozco isn't the only Lady Buff with a chance to make history on Saturday as Kelley-Lusk is three shots away from breaking Elisabeth Markussen's record. The senior from Farmington, N.M. has recorded 222 shots in 52 games as Markussen had 224 during her career from 2005-08.

With her goal against A&M-Commerce, Kelley-Lusk moved up to fifth on the all-time list for goals (30) and points (74).

A LOOK AT THE BRACKET
St. Edward's defeated Lubbock Christian 2-1 on Tuesday and will now face top-seeded Angelo State in the other semifinal. The Rambelles left it late against St. Mary's before securing another rematch against the Hilltoppers.
