The Hilltoppers took advantage of an errant WT throw in the fifth as Nolan Burr scored from third on the error to cut the lead to 2-1.

St. Edward's tied the game in the top of the eighth as Tyler Dean drew a bases loaded walk with two outs followed in the ninth by a Hunter Torrez bunt single in front of the plate that scored Burr for the 3-2 lead. The Buffs wouldn't go down without a fight as Cade Engle scored from third on a wild pitch with one out to send the game into extra innings tied at 3-3.

The Buffs would win it in the 11th as they loaded the bases once again before Tanner Schuetz drew a four-pitch walk for the 4-3 victory.
