Biography

2021:
Badgett was a staple on the diamond for the Buffs during his junior campaign in 2021, seeing time in 37 games with 35 starts split behind the plate and at third base. He hit .336 with nine doubled, two triples and three homeruns to drive in 39 RBI for a slugging percentage of .524 to go along with 24 walks and 12 hit-by-pitch for an on-base clip of .471. Defensively he registered 182 putouts and 56 assists with five errors for a fielding percentage of .979. He was named a Second Team D2CCA All-South Central Region selection while aso earning Honorable Mention All-LSC honors.

2020:
Badgett saw time in nine contests with seven starts behind the plate for the Buffs during his redshirt junior campaign in 2020. The Arvada, Colorado native hit .300 with three doubles and a homerun to drive in eight RBI for a slugging percentage of .600 to go along with four walks and a hit-by-pitch for an on-base clip of .423. Behind the plate, Badgett registered 13 putouts and seven assists with no errors for a perfect fielding percentage.

2019:
Badgett redshirted for the Buffs in 2019.

At Lamar Community College:
Badgett came to Canyon following two seasons at Lamar Community College in Lamar, Colorado where he played behind the plate for the Lopes under head coach Scott Crampton. The Arvada, Colorado native hit .350 during his sophomore season with nine doubles, a triple and three homeruns to drive in 38 RBI with 75 total bases for a slugging percentage of .478. Defensively he registered 270 putouts with 23 assists and just two errors for a fielding clip of .993 as the Lopes made a run to the NJCAA Region IX Tournament.
 
During his freshman campaign, Badgett hit .342 with 12 doubles and three homeruns with 42 RBI with 75 total bases for a slugging percentage of .475. During his time in Lamar, he hit .346 during two seasons with 21 doubles, a triple and six homeruns to drive in 80 RBI while registering a .993 fielding percentage behind the dish with 514 putouts and 55 assists with just four errors on 573 chances.

At Arvada High School:
Badgett registered a standout prep career at Arvada West High School where he played first base and caught for the Wildcats under head coach Matt McDougal. As a senior, he hit .407 with seven doubles and a homerun to drive in 10 RBI while registering a perfect fielding percentage to earn First Team All-Conference honors.

Born November 27, 1997. Son of Todd and Jeanne Badgett, has one brother John. Majoring in Education at West Texas A&M.
