Biography

2020:
Givens continued to prove himself as one of the top outfielders in Division II Baseball during the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign. The Jones, Oklahoma product started all 23 games in centerfield, hitting .371 with six doubles, two triples and a homerun to drive in 22 RBI for a slugging percentage of .517. Givens scored 25 runs during the season to go along with 14 walks for an on-base clip of .453 while leading WT in stolen bases with 18. He registered 45 putouts and one assist in the outfield with just two errors for a fielding percentage of .958.

2019:
Givens became one of the top leadoff hitters in the country during his junior campaign in 2019, seeing time in 52 games with 50 starts in the outfield for the Buffs. The D2CCA and NCBWA All-Region selection hit .380 on the season with six doubles, five triples and five homeruns to drive in 36 RBI with 63 runs scored for a slugging percentage of .545 to go along with 27 walks while stealing 31 bases for an on-base percentage of .465. Givens registered 61 putouts with one assist in center for a perfect fielding percentage as he was named the LSC Championship Most Valuable Player and a First Team All-LSC honoree.

At Butler Community College:
The Jones, Oklahoma native comes to Canyon following a standout sophomore season at Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kansas where he played in the outfield for the Grizzlies under head coach BJ McVay. Givens saw time in all 53 games for the Grizzlies this past season as the talented outfielder hit .311 with 12 doubles, two triples and three homeruns to drive in 28 RBI with 81 total bases for a slugging percentage of .450 while leading the Jayhawk Conference and ranking fourth in NJCAA Division I with 40 stolen bases.
 
At Oklahoma:
Givens spent his true freshman season in Norman where he saw time in nine games for the Oklahoma Sooners, hitting .200 in nine plate appearances with a double and two runs scored to go along with a stolen base. The Sooners made a run to the NCAA Postseason in 2017 as they competed in the Louisville Regional.

At Jones High School:
He was a three-year letter winner under head coach Mike Lowe at Jones High School where he was an Honorable Mention All-State selection during his senior season.

Personal:
Born May 20, 1997. Son of Scott and Tess Givens and he has one sister, Kaili. Majoring in Finance at West Texas A&M.
