CANYON, Texas –
After going 1-1-0 in the opening weekend of the season including a victory over #3 Colorado-Colorado Springs, the Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M head to Colorado for games against Adams State and Fort Lewis. They will face off against the Grizzlies on Friday followed by a midday matchup against the Skyhawks in Durango, Colo. on Sunday.

ADAMS STATE
The Grizzlies enter the second week of the season 1-1-0 after defeating Minnesota Cookston 5-3 in their season opener before losing 4-3 to Northwest Nazarene. They were picked to finish 13th in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.

Natalie Wheelock is the leading scorer for the Grizzlies with three goals, all of them coming in the win over UMC. Brenna Oakey, Gia Barone, Breana Flores, Diana Cerillo and Kendall Weld have all found the back of the net through two games. Corri Zaiger has played all 180:00 minutes in goal having made 12 saves on 29 shots faced.

ASU is led by first year head coach Janine Hurst, who spent the last four years as the assistant coach where she worked primarily with the goalkeepers. The Northglenn, Colo. native graduated from ASU and played goalkeeper for the Grizzlies from 2002-06.

THE SERIES
The Lady Buffs have dominated the series winning all four games by a combined score of 20-1. After more than a 10-year break, the two teams faced off last year in Canyon with the WT winning 1-0 courtesy of a goal from Samantha Silvestre.

FORT LEWIS
The Skyhawks are 0-1-1 on the season and will play Eastern New Mexico on Friday before the Lady Buffs invade Durango on Sunday. FLC was picked to finish ninth in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.

Renee Terrell has scored the only two goals for the Skyhawks this season, both of them coming in a 2-2 draw against MSU Texas.

Head coach Damian Clarke returned to Fort Lewis this past year after spending the previous four years at MSU Texas. He went 106-31-17 during his first tenure in Durango making him the winningest coach in program history.

THE SERIES
The Lady Buffs are 7-1-0 all-time against Fort Lewis dating back to 1998. Marlene van Mourik and Calista Cordero both scored in WT's 2-0 victory last year at The Pitch. This will be the Lady Buffs first trip to Durango since 2003.

LADY BUFFS SHOW TOUGHNESS AGAINST UCCS
Not even 48 hours after dropping a 2-0 decision to Colorado State-Pueblo, the Lady Buffs welcomed the third-ranked Mountain Lions of UCCS to The Pitch on Labor Day.

Khaline Jacob scored her first goal of the season in the first two minutes to give WT the surprise 1-0 lead. Hannah Kelley-Lusk doubled the lead before the half hour mark after capitalizing a defensive miscue by UCCS. They had to hunker down in second half with the Mountain Lions throwing numbers forward to get themselves back in the game. Courtney Dippel limited the damage to one goal as the Lady Buffs ended a two-game losing streak to UCCS.

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
Hannah Kelley-Lusk leads the team with three points after scoring the game-winner against UCCS after picking up an assist on Khaline Jacobs in the second minute. Marlene van Mourik has a team-high six shots, three of those being on-target.

Cheyenne Orozco, Lauren Burk and Samantha Silvestre are the only field players to have played the full 90 minutes in every game this season. Courtney Dippel already has 12 saves on the season, giving her 269 for her career.

THE MORE YOU KNOW
Marlene van Mourik needs just four more assist to crack the Top-10 in program history. Katie Henley (2002-05) current ranks 10th with 14.

With 31 more saves, senior Courtney Dippel will become the second goalkeeper in program history to record 300 or more saves. She is on pace to break Yvette Bedoy's program record of 306 career saves.

Khadidra Debesette is closing in on 5,000 career minutes played. The senior midfielder has appeared in 55 games including 51 starts for a total of 4,574 minutes during her four-year career.

WT HEAD COACH CHAD WEBB
WT head coach Chad Webb, a two-time LSC Coach of the Year, is now in his ninth season at the helm of the Lady Buffs. He is 76-67-17 overall during his time in Canyon. He has led WT to a pair of NCAA appearances during his tenure.
