Last Time Out…
The Lady Buffs defeated ENMU 4-1 on Oct. 5 at The Pitch thanks to three second half goals. WT went ahead in the third minute before the Greyhounds tied the match in the 50th minute. The Lady Buffs responded by scoring two goals within a minute of each other in the 53rd and 54th minute before Marlene van Mourik scored her second goal of the match in the 84th to seal the victory.

About Midwestern State…
The Mustangs have won two matches after dropping four of their five matches before that. Earlier in the season, MSU won a season-high six matches. They are currently tied with Angelo State for second in the LSC standings with 18 points. Hanna Mattinson, Destinee Williamson and Nicole Coetzer have combined to score 15 of the Mustangs 19 goals this season. Mattinson also lead the team in assists (3), points (3) and game-winners (3). The Mustangs have scored 13 of their 19 goals in the second half this season. Courtney Burnette has started all 16 matches in goal for MSU accounting for seven shutouts while making 69 saves on 187 shots. She has only allowed 12 goals for a .73 goals against average.

The Series with Midwestern State…
The Lady Buffs and Mustangs will meet for the 41st time in school history. MSU leads the all-time series 19-18-3.

Last Time Out…
The Lady Buffs used two first half goals from Kaitlin Steele and van Mourik before holding off a late rally from MSU in final 45 minutes to win 2-1. It was a game of two halves as the Lady Buffs dominated the first 45 minutes while the Mustangs outshot WT 8-2 in the second half.

What's at Stake This Week…
The Lady Buffs enter the final weekend of the regular season tied atop the LSC standing with Texas A&M-Commerce. If both teams win both of their matches this weekend, TAMUC will host due to goal differential in conference play. WT has to win one of two matches this weekend to guarantee at least a second place finish and spot in the semifinals.

A Look Back…
The Lady Buffs extended their winning streak to seven matches this past weekend with wins over #21 Texas A&M-Commerce and Texas Woman's. The win over the Lions put WT in a tie for first place in the Lone Star Conference heading into the final weekend of the regular season.
Karyn Forbes put the Lady Buffs ahead in the 87th minute on a free kick from 30 yards out after MacKenzie Taylor was taken down by two Lion defenders. The senior midfielder had been dangerous on free kicks all night and finally connected on one sending it into the upper left corner just out of the reach of Caitlin Duty. The Lions found an equalizer in the 89th minute but their joy was short lived as Khadisha Debesette would score the game-winner just three minutes into the first overtime. The sophomore defender was left wide open just inside the penalty area on a corner kick powering Marlene van Mourik's ball into the back of the net.
WT finished the season sweep of the Pioneers thanks to second half goals from Kaitlin Steele and Alejandra Dockery. The Lady Buffs backline was stellar all game holding TWU to just three shots with only one of those being on goal.

Lone Star Conference in the Rankings…
Four LSC teams are represented in the NSCAA South Central Regional with WT leading the way at No. 4. Texas A&M-Commerce fell out of the top 25 bur ranks fifth followed by Midwestern State (7th) and Angelo State (9th).

NCAA South Central Regional Rankings…
The Lady Buffs were ranked sixth in the first edition of the NCAA South Central Regional Rankings last Wednesday. Colorado Mines ranks first while TAMUC is second followed by St. Edward's and CSU-Pueblo.
