DALLAS, Texas – West Texas A&M women's soccer opened its 2015 campaign against RMAC power Metro State on Thursday afternoon in Dallas, Texas. The Lady Buffs allowed two late goals as they fell, 2-0, at the Patriot Soccer Field.
Both teams were held scoreless until the Roadrunners scored two goals in a span of two minutes starting in the 77^th minute.
 
TURNING POINT
Courtney Dippel made two saves on MSU forward Reigna Banks in the 16^th and 18^th minute to keep Metro State off the board. The Roadrunners stayed aggressive as Jordan Post was denied by the post in the 19^th minute.
The match stayed scoreless until the 77^th minute when Korena Porelas found the back of the net.
The Roadrunners added a brace just two minutes later when Noemy Polanco found the back of the net. WT was unable to capitalize on the six corners they earned throughout the match.
 
INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
Courtney Dippel had a match-high seven saves in her first collegiate match.
Rachel Herring led the team with two shots while Ashlee Craig was the lone Lady Buff to get a shot on goal.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Metro State outshot WT, 12-1, in the first half and 23-6 overall.
- Ashlee Craig's shot on goal in the 65^th minute earned WT a corner kick. Emily Krenek sent one of the Lady Buffs chances high with her header.
 
NEWS & NOTES
- Metro State has now beaten the Lady Buffs, 2-0, in their last three meetings.
- Dippel was the lone freshmen to see action for WT.  
- Today's loss marks the third-straight season the Lady Buffs have lost their season opener.
