LUCKY NUMBER 13For the second-straight year, the Lady Buffs won the Lone Star Conference regular season title with a 15-1 record and then followed with their second-straight Lone Star Conference Tournament title with a thrilling 73-70 victory over Midwestern State in the championship. The Lady Buffs have won 36 of their past 38 regular season LSC games dating back to 2012-13 and 44 of 47 overall including the past three LSC Championships.
SETTING THE STAGE WT is the No. 1-seed in the regional and will face a familiar foe in LSC member and No. 8-seed Cameron. The Lady Buffs won both meetings with Cameron this year downing the Aggies 87-69 in Canyon on Jan. 10 and winning in Lawton 81-67 on Feb. 14. The Lady Buffs shot .550 from the field in the two games and were 14 of 39 from beyond the arc (.359), while outrebounding the Aggies 36.5 to 30.0. WT forced 309 turnovers and 17 steals. Cameron is deadly from long range as the Aggies went 19 of 39 (.594) from beyond the arc against WT.
LOOKING AHEAD If the Lady Buffs were fortunate enough to defeat Cameron, they would play the winner of the 4/5 matchup between Colorado Mesa and Arkansas-Fort Smith on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the regional semifinal. WT downed Colorado Mesa in a thrilling regional final last season in the First United Bank Center 59-56. The Lady Buffs defeated Arkansas-Fort Smith 85-70 in Fort Smith last season and won against UAFS in 2012 in Canyon.
RECAPPING THE LSC CHAMPIONSHIPWT opened the LSC Championship as the top seed and defeated Angelo State 87-46, followed by a hard-fought 82-74 victory over Texas Woman's as seniors

Ariel Robertson each had double-doubles as White led the way with 23 points and 14 rebounds. Free throw shooting and a season-low nine turnovers helped the Lady Buffs put away the pesky Pioneers. The championship game matched the top two seed and a rematch of the LSC semifinal from a year ago as WT pulled out a 73-70 victory with White having 19 points and 11 rebounds earning LSC Tournament MVP honors.
WINNING STREAKWT has won 18-straight games which is sixth-best in school history and second currently in the NCAA. Limestone, who the Lady Buffs beat in the Elite Eight last season, has won 29-straight games to lead the nation. Top-ranked Alaska Anchorage is right behind the Lady Buffs winners of 17-straight.
IN THE POLLSWT is ranked No. 3 nationally in the latest Division II Sports Information Director's poll and No. 5 in the latest USA Today Top 25. Midwestern State is receiving votes in the USA Today poll as is Colorado Mesa. In the SID poll, MSU is 19th with UC-Colorado Springs 24th and Colorado Mesa receiving votes.
GOING FOR 60WT head coach
Mark Kellogg won his 50th game at WT on Feb. 7 in the 81-57 victory over Texas A&M-Kingsville. Kellogg became the fastest coach to 50 wins in school history in just 55 games (50-5) at that point. He surpassed previous WT head coach Krista Gerlich who needed 59 games to reach 50 wins. Kellogg now is going for win No. 60 as he is 59-5 is 247-64 overall in 10 seasons with stops at Fort Lewis (Colo.), Northwest Missouri State and now WT.
FIRST IN THE NATIONWT leads the nation in field goal percentage at a 49.2 clip. The Lady Buffs have shot over 50 percent in 25 games under Kellogg going 24-1 and 15-1 in conference play. This season, WT is 12-0 and went 7-0 in league play when shooting over 50 percent for the game.
NATIONALLY SPEAKINGThe Lady Buffs rank seventh nationally in assists at 17.6 per game. WT is eighth in scoring offense at 79.7 points per game. The Lady Buffs rank ninth in scoring margin at 16.4 points and are 12th in 3-point field goal percentage at a 37.8 average. WT also ranks 18th in rebounding margin (7.4 rpg.) and 31st in steals per game at 10.4 per game. Individually, White ranks 49th nationally in field goal shooting at a .516 clip, while sophomore

WT is 185 of 490 from beyond the arc (.378) and 505 of 703 from the line for a .718 average. WT is averaging 38.1 rebounds per game, while allowing a league-best just 30.8 per game.
