CANYON, Texas – Coming off one of its best offensive performances of the season, the No. 6/7 West Texas A&M women's basketball team begins the second half the Lone Star Conference season Wednesday evening at Angelo State. The Lady Buffs have won seven straight games and are 16-2 overall and lead the LSC with a 7-1 record.
Heading into the second half of the conference season, the Lady Buffs have a half game lead on Midwestern State (7-2) and a full game lead on Cameron (6-2).

WT won its seventh straight game with a dominating 102-51 victory at Eastern New Mexico on Saturday. In the game, the Lady Buffs tallied a season-high 15 three-pointers as six players scored in double figures. The Lady Buffs shot 59.3 percent from the field and a season-best 70.4 percent in the second half, while scoring 55 points in the second half.
The 51-point margin was the largest of the season and it was the third game over 100 points this season marking the most since the 1996-97 season. It also was the second conference game of 100 or more points which was the first time that had happened since 2003-04. WT is the only conference team to score multiple 100-point games this season and the only to do so in conference play. Texas A&M-Commerce scored 104 in a non-conference game against Arlington Baptist earlier this season.

Chontiquah White moved into seventh all-time in scoring with her 13 points on Saturday. White now has 1,456 career points surpassing former teammate
Devin Griffin and Von Tucker (1984-88). White needs 140 points to tie for sixth and 181 to move into the top five.
Head coach
Mark Kellogg is 48-5 in his second year at WT and is 236-64 in 10 seasons of coaching. The seven game winning streak ties his streak of winning his first seven games last season to begin his career at WT. He then won 14-straight and 11-straight during the 32-3 run to the national championship game last season and he won nine-straight games earlier this season.
This season, the Lady Buffs are led by White who leads the team averaging 17.0 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. White is 102 of 193 from the field for a .528 clip and is 93 of 118 from the line for a .788 clip. She has added an outside shot this season as she is 9 of 19 from beyond the arc. Prior to this season, she had never made or attempted a 3-pointer.
Sophomore
Sasha Watson is second in scoring at 13.2 points per game. Watson is 86 of 142 from the field (.606) and is 60 of 104 from free throw line as she is second on the team in makes and trips. Watson has 79 assists on the year (4.4) and 51 steals (2.8). Junior
Danielle Logan leads the team in triples with 34 and is third in scoring at 9.6 points per game. Junior
Madison McLain is right behind Logan with 32 made triples and is fifth in scoring at 8.6 points per game. Senior
Ariel Robertson has come on as of late as she is tied with McLain at 8.6 points per game. Robertson is shooting .557 from the field on 64 of 115 this season.
As a team, the Lady Buffs are shooting a blistering .494 from the field on 514 of 1041. They are 124 of 329 from beyond the arc (.377) and 297 of 434 from the line for a .684 clip. The Lady Buffs average 38.2 rebounds per game and score 80.5 points per contest, while allowing 31.3 rebounds and 64.4 points.
Nationally speaking, the Lady Buffs took over the top spot in field goal percentage with a 49.4 average after Saturday's game. The Lady Buffs are sixth nationally in assists (18.1), sixth in scoring offense (80.5), 15
th in scoring margin (16.1), 17
th in 3-point field goal percentage (.377), 21
st in steals (11.1) and 27
th in rebounding margin at 6.9. Individually, Watson leads the conference in assists at 4.4 per game ranking her 50
th nationally. White is 40
th nationally and first in the league in field goal percentage at a .528 clip. She is second in the LSC in scoring and 70
th nationally (17.0). Watson also leads the league in steals at 2.83 ranking her 26
th nationally.
The Rambelles are 6-12 overall and 1-7 in Lone Star Conference play. Angelo State got its first LSC win Saturday in a 58-45 victory at Texas A&M-Kingsville. ASU outscored TAMUK 42-21 in the second half after being down 25-16 at intermission. The win snapped an eight-game losing skid.
Leading the way for the Rambelles this season is Amanda Weaver who leads the team averaging 10.5 points per game. Weaver is the lone Rambelle to play and start all 18 games thus far. She is 62 of 173 from the field (.358) and leads the team from beyond the arc with 40 triples and a .392 clip ranking her 40
th nationally and fourth in the LSC. Weaver is 25 of 31 from the line (.806) and is averaging 5.1 rebounds per game. Shauna Coleman leads the team in rebounding at 5.5 per game, while Weaver leads the team in assists with 40 and Diamalises Rivera leads the team with 14 steals.
As a team, the Rambelles are shooting .393 from the field, .326 from beyond the arc with 84 triples and .663 from the line. ASU is averaging 40 rebounds per game and allowing 38.8. The Rambelles are averaging 63 points per game and allowing 65.3.
In the conference, ASU leads the league in 3-point field goal percentage defense at a .299 clip and is second in defensive rebounds (27), third in blocks (3.1) and second in field goal percentage defense at a .385 clip.
WT downed Angelo State 80-49 on Jan. 14 in Canyon. The Lady Buffs broke open a close game with a 27-7 spurt to begin the second half. White led the way with 18 points and 10 rebounds as she tallied her sixth double-double of the season. WT won the battle of the board 42-28 and led 28-6 in points in the paint, while recording 15 offensive rebounds leading to a 16-5 lead in second chance points.
The Lady Buffs lead the all-time series with ASU 45-13. WT has won five-straight in the series and 10 of 11. ASU's last win was a 77-71, double overtime victory in San Angelo on Dec. 1, 2012. WT leads the all-time series 17-8 in San Angelo.
