SAN ANGELO, Texas  – The West Texas A&M women's soccer team came up short against No. 6 Angelo State on Friday evening losing 2-0. The Lady Buffs allowed a penalty kick in the 24th minute before allowing a brace in the 70th minute as they were unable to capitalize on their chances in the first half against the national ranked Rambelles.

The Lady Buffs controlled the first half by outshooting the Rambelles, 7-3, forcing Shantel Wittke to make five saves. But ASU capitalized on a penalty kick in the 24th minute as Haley Mendel converted it for her sixth goal of the season. Emily Krenek and Karyn Forbes nearly leveled the match before half time but Wittke was determined to keep the clean sheet.

The second half was a different story as ASU outshot WT 11-2 while adding another goal in the 70th minute. Ashley Exford's through ball in the 70th minute gave Sierra Anderson the space she needed to beat Courtney Dippel for her sixth goal of the season.
