West Texas A&M Basketball Announces Their 2025-26 Schedule

CANYON, Texas –
 West Texas A&M men's basketball head coach Tom Brown has announced the 2025-26 schedule for the Buffaloes highlighted by 16 games inside of the First United Bank Center in Canyon.
 
The 30-game regular season schedule features five contest against teams that qualified for last season's NCAA Division II Tournament (St. Edward's, St. Mary's, Lubbock Christian, Midwestern State, DBU). Last season, WT made the NCAA Tournament for a ninth-consecutive season where three freshmen made the LSC All-Freshman team. The Buffs also posted a 3.48 GPA in the classroom to earn NABC Team Academic Excellence Award accolades.
 
October/November
The Buffaloes begin their campaign in St. Joseph, Missouri as they take part in the D2CCA Tipoff Classic hosted by the St. Joseph Sports Commission at Civic Arena with matchups against Missouri Western (Oct. 31) and Pittsburg State (Nov. 1). WT welcomes RMAC member Chadron State to the First United Bank Center for a pair of in-region contests on November 14-15 before a showdown with Central Oklahoma in Canyon on November 22nd. The Buffs close out the month with the WT Thanksgiving Classic as they will take on Justice College (Nov. 28) and Fort Lewis (Nov. 29) with Angelo State also taking part in the holiday event.
 
December
Lone Star Conference begins in December as the Buffs host Oklahoma Christian (Dec. 4) and Cameron (Dec. 6) before making a trip to the newest member of the LSC, UT Dallas on December 13th. The Buffs will take part in the San Antonio Classic on December 16-17 with a pair of Division II contest against opponents to be determined. WT closes out the calendar year against Arlington Baptist at the FUBC on December 20th.
 
January
West Texas A&M opens 2026 on the road as they make road trips to Silver City, New Mexico (Jan. 2) and Alpine, Texas (Jan. 4) before hosting St. Edward's (Jan. 8) and St. Mary's (Jan. 10) at the First United Bank Center. The Buffs begin a three-game LSC road trip at Lubbock Christian (Jan. 15) followed by trips to Midwestern State (Jan 17) and Eastern New Mexico (Jan. 22) before closing the month in Canyon against UT Tyler (Jan. 29) and defending Regional Champion DBU (Jan. 31).
 
February
The Buffs open the month of February with road contests at Cameron (Feb. 5) and Oklahoma Christian (Feb. 7) before hosting Eastern New Mexico (Feb. 10) and UT Dallas (Feb. 12) at the First United Bank Center. WT travels to South Texas to take on Texas A&M-Kingsville (Feb. 19) and Texas A&M International (Feb. 21) before ending the regular season at home against Angelo State (Feb. 26) and UT Permian Basin (Feb. 28).
 
March/April
The Lone Star Conference Championships returns to the Comerica Center in Frisco on March 5-8 followed by the South Central Regional Championships on March 14-17. The South Central Regional Champion will punch their ticket to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight on March 24th followed by the National Semifinals on March 26th in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The NCAA DII National Title game will take place on April 5th at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
