West Texas A&M Sits 15th After Round Two in Palm Beach

CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M Buffaloes registered an eight-stroke improvement in their team score on Tuesday during the second round of the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships at the PGA National Resort (Par 72 – 7,074 Yards) in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
 
The Buffs registered 14 birdies along with a pair of eagles during the second round. WT sits tied for fifth in par-five scoring with a 4.67 average as they are tied for second in the field with three eagles during the first two rounds.
 
Santiago Caride and Victor Estas are tied for 38th on the individual leaderboard with a score of +3 (147). Luis Palomo and Jose Rozas enter the final round of stroke play tied for 77th (+9, 153).
 
Missouri S&T fired a -8 (280) on Tuesday to hold a three-stroke lead over West Florida and St. Mary's (-4, 572) entering Wednesday's round. Colton Swartz of Florida Southern and Hunter Smith of North Georgia are tied atop of the individual leaderboard (-6, 138).
 
The top eight teams following Wednesday's final stroke play round will advance to medal-match play beginning on Thursday morning. The Buffs will be paired with Oklahoma Christian and Cal State San Bernardino with traditional tee times beginning at 8:20 a.m. CT
