CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M sits second following 36 holes at the DII Shootout at PGA Riviera Maya (Par 72 – 6,980 Yards) in Akumal, Mexico.
The Buffs shot a combined 299 in the first round and 300 in the second round to sit just one stroke behind UT Tyler (598).
Santiago Caride and
Victor Estas both delivered strong performances, sitting tied for seventh place with scores of 148. Caride's play improved significantly in the second round, highlighted by his impressive even-par 72, following an opening 76, while Estas maintained steady play with consistent rounds of 74.
Luis Palomo also contributed significantly, sitting 10
th with a total score of 149, including a first-round 72. Jose Rozas is tied for 22nd, recording consistent rounds of 77, totaling 154.
David Vega Gerstel's second-round 85 places him tied for 58th.
Tuesday's final round will see the Buffs be paired with UT Tyler and CSU Pueblo.
