CANYON, TEXAS – The West Texas A&M Buffaloes concluded their 2026 campaign on Wednesday as they finished ninth on the team leaderboard after stroke play at the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships at Boulder Creek Golf Club (Par 72 – 7,595 Yards) in Boulder City, Nevada.
 
The Buffs finished just one place outside of advancing to match play with rounds of 278, 302 and 277 for a team total of 857 (-7) as they tied for second in par-three scoring (3.03) while registering four eagles, 61 birdies and 143 pars during the opening three rounds.
 
Luis Palomo concluded his collegiate career with a 71 (-1) on Wednesday to finish tied for 28^th overall with a 213 (-3) as the Barcelona, Spain product had three birdies along with an eagle on the 533-yard par five fifth hole during round three.
 
Florida Southern tallied round of 280, 278 and 271 for a team total of 829 (-35) to hold the top overall seed entering quarterfinal match play. Missouri-St. Louis (-27), Wingate (-25), Lee (-18), Georgia Southwestern (-17), Columbus State (-16), Cal State San Bernardino (-10) and Colorado Christian (-9) are still alive in hopes of claiming a National Championship on Friday.
 
Octavio Laurent of USC Beaufort shot rounds of 70, 66 and 63 for a 199 (-17) to win the NCAA Division II National Title by four-strokes over Colorado Christian's Lance Christensen Jr. (-13, 203).
