Buffs Enter Round Three at the NCAA Championships in 12th

CANYON, TEXAS – The West Texas A&M Buffaloes enter the final round of stroke play 12th on the team leaderboard at the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships at Boulder Creek Golf Club (Par 72 – 7,595 Yards) in Boulder City, Nevada.
 
The Buffs are tied for fifth in the field in par-three scoring (3.05) as they have registered 37 birdies thru the first two rounds.
 
Luis Palomo leads the way for the Buffs as the senior sits tied for 26th on the individual leaderboard with rounds of 66 and 76 for a 142 (-2). Palomo is tied for sixth in the 109-player field with 11 birdies thru 36 holes.
 
Florida Southern has registered rounds of 280 and 278 for a team total of 558 (-18) to hold a one-stroke lead over Missouri-St. Louis (-17, 559). Ian Pienaar of Columbus State leads the way individually with a -10 (134) for a two-stroke lead over West Florida's Per Ekelund and USC Beaufort's Octavio Laurent (136, -8).
 
The Buffs will be paired with Colorado Christian and Grand Valley State during Wednesday's final round of stroke play as the top eight teams advance to match play.
