CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M men's golf head coach Axel Ochoa has announced the fall 2026 fall schedule for the Buffaloes. The fall features four tournaments including the annual Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational hosted by the Buffs.
 
2025-26 saw the Buffs register eight different top five team finishes highlighted by victories at the Shootout at PGA Riviera Maya as well as the Oak Tree Invitational. WT finished second at the NCAA Regional Championships in Stockton, California followed by a ninth place showing at the NCAA Championships.
 
Axel Ochoa enters his eighth season leading the WT men's golf program,, being named the eighth head coach in program history in January of 2020. Ochoa has led the Buffs to new heights, appearing in three consecutive NCAA Championships. The Buenos Aires, Argentina native was named the Lone Star Conference Co-Coach of the Year in 2025-26, the first ever WT men's golf head coach to win the award. Ochoa was also tabbed the Golf Pride South Central Region Coach of the Year.
 
The fall schedule begins on September 13-15 as the Buffs make their way to Sheridan, Wyoming to take part in the Travis Roy Memorial hosted by South Dakota Mines at The Powder Horn Golf Club followed by a trip to Montrose, Colorado (Sept. 21-22) for the annual San Juan Intercollegiate at The Bridges Golf and Country Club co-hosted by Colorado Mesa and Fort Lewis.
 
WT looks to defend their team title at the Shootout at PGA Riviera Maya on September 27-29 in Quintana Roo, Mexico hosted by Western New Mexico before closing out the fall schedule at Amarillo Country Club on October 12-13 as WT hosts the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational.
