CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M closes out the fall portion of their schedule on Tuesday and Wednesday as they hosted the annual Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational at Amarillo Country Club (Par 71 – 6,937 Yards).
The Buffs took advantage of the home course advantage on Tuesday and Wednesday as they elected to play a pair of five-player teams along with an individual. The Buffs concluded the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invite in seventh place out of 16 teams, with a final score of 849 over three rounds.
Luis Palomo was a standout performer, tying for fourth individually with a total of 207 (-6). His consistent play included two rounds of 68 (-3) and an even-par 71 in the final round. José Rozas also contributed significantly, tying for 15th place with a score of 211 (-2), highlighted by a strong opening round of 67 (-4).
WT's second squad tied for eighth place, matching a final score of 852.
Callum McLean led the Buffs with a tie for 23rd place, finishing at 212 (-1) after a second-round 66 (-5).
Kolby Stork and Jose De La Concepcion both finished at 214 (+1), tying for 29th. Stork's consistent rounds included a 70 (-1) in the first round, while De La Concepcion mirrored that performance with back-to-back 70s in the first two rounds.
Odessa College shot rounds of 274, 278 and 270 for a team score of 822 (-30) as they claimed a 13-stroke win over UT Permian Basin (-17). Ken Gao of Odessa College won the individual crown with -13 (200) for a four-stroke win over Colorado Mesa's Leo Lavelle (204).
The Buffs return to the course in 2026 as they begin the championship segment of their schedule on February 9-10 at the Houston Classic hosted by Southern Nazarene at the Golf Club of Houston.
