CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M's Carlos Fernández Mortera enters the final round of The Travis Roy Memorial sitting second on the individual leaderboard at The Powder Horn Golf Community (Par 72) in Sheridan, Wyoming.
 
Fernandez Mortera tied the lowest second round score (67) of the 72-player field as the senior registered seven birdies and two bogeys during Monday's round. The Gijon, Spain product is tied for the lowest par-four scoring average (3.90) while tallying 11 birdies which is second in the event.
 
Reigning Lone Star Conference individual champion David Vega Gerstel put together an impressive second round of his own, registering five birdies along with an eagle on the third hole, a 564-yard par-five, on his way to a 68 (-4) to sit tied for seventh overall.
 
The Buffs have one eagle, 31 birdies and 127 pars following the first two rounds as they moved to fifth on the team leaderboard following a 286 (-2) on Monday to improve on their opening round score by 14 strokes. Colorado Christian has a team total of 569 (-7) to hold a 10-stroke advantage over Colorado School of Mines (+3, 579) entering Tuesday.
 
Jude Robbins of Colorado Christian has shot rounds of 69 and 67 for a 36-hole total of 136 (-8) to sit atop of the individual leaderboard by five strokes over Fernandez Mortera.
