CANYON, Texas – The Buffaloes of West Texas A&M fired rounds of 307 and 297 on Monday to sit eighth on the team leaderboard following the opening day of the 2025 Lone Star Conference Men's Golf Championships at Rockwall Golf and Athletic Club in Rockwall, Texas.

Victor Rozas led the way for the Buffaloes as the junior shot identical rounds of 74 for a 148 (+4) to sit tied for 16
th overall. Rozas registered eight birdies on the day with four feathers coming in each round. The Buffs were second in the field in par-3 scoring with a 3.00 as they tallied 28 birdies during the opening 36 holes which ranks tie for fourth in the field.

St. Mary's sits atop of the team leaderboard with a -2 (574) to hold a two-stroke lead over Oklahoma Christian (E, 576). Philip Hallstrom leads the individual race with rounds of 71 and 68 for a 139 (-5) to hold a two-stroke lead over OC's Joey Lewis (-3, 141).

The Buffs will have some work to do on Tuesday if they look to advance to medal match play, WT will be paired with UT Permian Basin and Western New Mexico with a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 a.m.
