CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M's Luis Palomo fired rounds of 73 and 72 on Monday during the opening day of the Oak Tree Invitational hosted by Oklahoma Christian at the Oak Tree Country Club.
 
The junior from Barcelona, Spain registered three birdies on the day with two of them coming in the second round, WT had 21 feathers in the first two round as they shot a +47 (607) to sit ninth on the team leaderboard.
 
UT Tyler shot rounds of 294 and 289 for a 583 (+23) to hold a nine-stroke lead over Central Oklahoma (+32) followed by host Oklahoma Christian (+36, 596) in third.
 
Seth Beardon of Midwestern State carded round of 70 and 68 for a 138 (-2) to hold a four-stroke lead over Cameron's Ethan Korock (142, +2).
 
The Buffs will be paired with Central Oklahoma and UT Tyler during Tuesday's final round.
