CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M softball looks to keep its win streak alive as Lone Star Conference foe St. Mary's visits Canyon. The Lady Buffs and Rattlers are scheduled for a 1 p.m. first pitch in the LSC doubleheader

The Athletic Communications Department from West Texas A&M will provide live stats and a pay-per-view web stream. Fans will need to purchase a monthly ($19.99) or annual ($107.88) subscription with FloSports, the official streaming provider of the Lone Star Conference. A LOOK AT THE #11 LADY BUFFS
The Lady Buffs started Lone Star Conference play with a doubleheader sweep of St. Edward's. WT won game one of the series 8-1 before posting an 8-3 victory over the Hilltoppers in game two.
The Lady Buffs feature another high-octane lineup that ranks inside the top 10 for Division II for almost every offensive category including top five standings in batting average, on-base percentage, scoring, and stolen bases. WT leads the country in doubles, hits, home runs, RBIs, slugging percentage, runs, and triples.
Junior
Lauren Granger leads the country with 21 hits and 43 total bases with other top 10 standings in over offensive categories. Granger's .553 batting average leads the team where all primary offensive players hold a .300 batting average or higher.
Emilee Boyer's 22 RBIs tie for the DII lead as the junior utility also ranks in the top 10 in other categories nationwide.
In the circle, WT has posted a 1.32 ERA with 96 strikeouts and 14 earned runs in 74 innings. Boyer and Vortherms have over 30 strikeouts each on the season as
Kendall Selitzky also has double digits (16) on the season.
Head Coach
Michael Mook is in his sixth season at WT, registering a 198-53 (.789) record in that time. For his career, Mook holds 352-114 record in 10 seasons for an overall winning percentage of .754.
SCOUTING ST. MARY'S
St. Mary's improved to 7-6 on the season with a doubleheader sweep of Midwestern State on Friday. The Rattlers posted a 9-5 victory in game one with an 8-0 run-rule victory in five innings coming in game two.
Abigail Dela Rosa leads the Rattlers offense as the junior holds a .478 batting average with a 1.181 OPS, .652 slugging average, and .529 on-base percentage. The La Grange, Texas native paces St. Mary's with 22 hits, four triples, and 30 total bases. Lauren Gonzales follows with a .378 average, .818 OPS, and a .378 slugging percentage. Gabriela Banda leads the team with 16 RBI while Emily Ayala has hit a team-leading three home runs.
As a pitching staff, St. Mary's holds a 4.53 ERA in 85.0 innings of work. During that time, opponents are hitting .295 while hitting 18 doubles, four triples, and seven home runs while striking out 35 times. Madeline Bloom leads the staff with a 0.86 ERA on five appearances with three starts including two complete games. Ariella Saenz has appeared in eight of St. Mary's 12 games with one start. Jaydn Abrego leads the team with five starts, posting a 6.49 ERA in 18.1 innings.
Ronnie Ladines is in her first season as the head coach of the St. Mary's program and first overall. Ladines holds a 7-6 (.538) record for her career with a matching record at the helm of the Rattlers.
THE SERIES
WT leads the all-time series with St. Mary's 17-14 including 11-5 in Canyon. The Lady Buffs are 8-3 against the Rattlers under
Michael Mook. Last season, WT swept the series with St. Mary's, taking all three games in Canyon. The two teams met in the Lone Star Conference tournament where the Lady Buffs run-ruled the Rattlers 9-1 in five innings.

NFCA RANKINGS
UT Tyler received all 16 first-place votes for 400 points to claim the top spot in the poll. Auburn Montgomery (375) jumped to No. 2 followed by North Georgia (361). Wilmington (337), who begins its season on Feb. 21, moved up one spot with Tampa joining the top five with 335 points. Augustana (327), Angelo State (314), Rogers State (280), Trevecca Nazarene (251), and Western Washington (236) make up the top 10 with WT right behind at 234 points.
The South Central region is represented by five teams with UT Tyler leading the way at No. 1. Angelo State (7
th), WT (11
th), and Oklahoma Christian (20
th) earned spots in the rankings. Lubbock Christian received votes for this week's poll.
LSC PRESEASON POLL
Reigning National Champion UT Tyler took the top spot in the poll with 34 first-place votes and 672 points followed by WT with eight first-place votes and 642 points. Angelo State grabbed the final first-place vote for 590 points with Oklahoma Christian following at 528 points. Lubbock Christian and St. Mary's tied for fifth in the poll with each school totaling 483 points. Texas Woman's (382), Texas A&M-Kingsville (372), Cameron (348), and Eastern New Mexico (315) occupy the seventh through 10
th spots, respectively. St. Edward's (293), Texas A&M International (215), Midwestern State (214), UT Permian Basin (97), and Sul Ross State (72) round out the poll.
