CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M women's soccer team starts Lone Star Conference play in Portales, N.M. on Wednesday, Sept. 25. The Lady Buffs will face off against the Greyhounds of Eastern New Mexico at 8 p.m. CT at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium.

WT leads the all-time series against Eastern New Mexico 19-7-4 with the series starting in 2003. The two teams played to a scoreless draw in Canyon last season. The Lady Buffs are 7-5-1 in Portales all-time including 4-0-1 in the last five. WT is 3-1-1 in the series' last five meetings and 6-1-3 in the last 10.

The Lady Buffs fell to the Skyhawks of Fort Lewis 4-2 on Sunday afternoon in Canyon. SCOUTING EASTERN NEW MEXICO
The Greyhounds (1-2-1) enter Wednesday's match on a one-game winning streak after defeating Colorado Christian, 1-0. WT and Eastern New Mexico share three common opponents, Adams State Fort Lewis, and Western Colorado, where ENMU went 0-2-1 while WT went 2-1. The Greyhounds have scored just two goals on the season with Gaia Chies and Mariana Gonzalez Jimenez each accounting for a score. Katelyn Aune and Meghann Wingsutton each have an assist on the season as well. In goal, Rosie Wilmott Joyce has accounted for all but 15 minutes on the season. Wilmott Joyce has allowed five goals with 25 saves on 64 shots faced for a 1.31 goals against average, 0.833 save percentage, and a shutout.

LSC PRESEASON POLL
Dallas Baptist is selected to win its fifth consecutive Lone Star Conference championship after winning the regular season and conference tournament last season. The Patriots totaled 587 points and collected all but one of the possible 42 first-place votes. St. Mary's followed with 519 points with Angelo State (500), Texas Woman's (456), and Midwestern State (420) finishing out the top five. Texas A&M International (348), St. Edward's (1 fpv, 323), Lubbock Christian (278), Oklahoma Christian (234), and UT Tyler (216) occupy the sixth through 10
th spots, respectively. WT (200), UT Permian Basin (176), Eastern New Mexico (88), and Sul Ross State (65) round out the preseason standings.

DBU's Taylor Tufts and Parker Coe were tabbed the LSC Preseason Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, respectively, while Texas Woman's Amanda Farris earned Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year honors.
