Avery Putnam's goal less than five minutes into the West Texas A&M women's soccer match against the Adams State Grizzlies proved to be the difference in a 1-0 win in Alamosa, Colo. on Friday. The Lady Buffs improved to 2-0 on the season while Adams State falls to 0-2-1. Â Following the game's first shot Adams State went down the field to force a corner kick. SCOUTING #6 COLORADO SCHOOL OF MINES
The Orediggers come off their third consecutive win after defeating Lubbock Christian 2-0 on Thursday. After a scoreless first half, Mines scored two goals in a five-minute window. Ava Harman leads the team with five points on two goals and an assist followed by Bella Campos with four points on a goal and two assists. Reese McDermott and Natalie Rouse have scored one goal each while Cloey Seltzer has an assist on the season. In goal, Allie Lundgren and Sadie Wolf have combined for time in net with Wolf starting all three games. In her 225 minutes of play, Wolf has allowed one goal with six saves on 15 shots faced for a 0.40 goals-against average, 0.857 save percentage, and a solo shutout.

LSC PRESEASON POLL
Dallas Baptist is selected to win its fifth consecutive Lone Star Conference championship after winning the regular season and conference tournament last season. The Patriots totaled 587 points and collected all but one of the possible 42 first-place votes. St. Mary's followed with 519 points with Angelo State (500), Texas Woman's (456), and Midwestern State (420) finishing out the top five. Texas A&M International (348), St. Edward's (1 fpv, 323), Lubbock Christian (278), Oklahoma Christian (234), and UT Tyler (216) occupy the sixth through 10
th spots, respectively. WT (200), UT Permian Basin (176), Eastern New Mexico (88), and Sul Ross State (65) round out the preseason standings.

DBU's Taylor Tufts and Parker Coe were tabbed the LSC Preseason Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, respectively, while Texas Woman's Amanda Farris earned Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year honors.
