After a scoreless first half, the West Texas A&M used four second-half goals to defeat the Western Colorado Mountaineers 4-2 on Saturday afternoon in Canyon. The Lady Buffs took their first lead of the game when

th minute goal only to have Western Colorado answer a minute and a half later. Two minutes after the Mountaineers tied the game,
Reagan Matacale put WT back in front. Western Colorado tied up the game once again two minutes later, but
Madison Stokes scored her first WT goal in the 60
th minute to give the Lady Buffs the lead. Matacale added her second goal of the game with less than 10 minutes to play, securing a WT victory.

SCOUTING ADAMS STATE
The Grizzlies opened their season with a 1-1 draw at Eastern New Mexico before falling to Lubbock Christian, 2-0. Adams State's lone goal came from Karlee Caballero with an assist from Denali Levin. Two other Grizzlies have recorded shots on the season as Caballero leads with six followed by Grace Abbott (3), and Denali Levin and Kylie Chavez with one each. Ashlyn Bartley played all 180 minutes in goal for Adams State over its first two games. Bartley allowed three goals with three saves on 12 shots faced for 1.50 goals against average and .500 save percentage.

LSC PRESEASON POLL
Dallas Baptist is selected to win its fifth consecutive Lone Star Conference championship after winning the regular season and conference tournament last season. The Patriots totaled 587 points and collected all but one of the possible 42 first-place votes. St. Mary's followed with 519 points with Angelo State (500), Texas Woman's (456), and Midwestern State (420) finishing out the top five. Texas A&M International (348), St. Edward's (1 fpv, 323), Lubbock Christian (278), Oklahoma Christian (234), and UT Tyler (216) occupy the sixth through 10
thĀ spots, respectively. WT (200), UT Permian Basin (176), Eastern New Mexico (88), and Sul Ross State (65) round out the preseason standings.

DBU's Taylor Tufts and Parker Coe were tabbed the LSC Preseason Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, respectively, while Texas Woman's Amanda Farris earned Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year honors.
