CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M Buffaloes fired rounds of 301 and 296 on Monday to sit fourth after two rounds at the Oak Tree Invitational hosted by Oklahoma Christian at Oak Tree Country Club (Par 70 – 7,116 Yards) in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Pepe De La Concepción Quílez led the way for the Buffs as the Valencia, Spain product shot rounds of 72 and 74 for a 146 (+6) to sit tied for sixth overall. The Buffs registered 26 birdies on Monday including 13 in the second round to go along with an eagle on the 560-yard par-five fourth hole by
Wyatt Provence.
Host Oklahoma Christian shot rounds of 300 and 280 for a total of 580 to hold a 12-stroke lead over Oklahoma City (592, +32) on the team leaderboard. Central Oklahoma's Jordan Wilson leads on the individual side with a score of 141 (+1) by one stroke over Seth Campbell of UT Tyler (+2, 142).
The Buffs are paired with Central Oklahoma, Oklahoma City and Midwestern State tomorrow with a shotgun start beginning at 9:00 a.m.
