CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M men's golf shot rounds of 280 and 282 (562, -6) on Monday following 36 holes at The Sam Proal Invitational at Pueblo Country Club (Par 71 – 6,428 Yards) in Pueblo, Colorado.
 
West Texas A&M led the field in par-four scoring with an average of 3.98 as they tallied an event-leading 39 birdies during the first two rounds. Colorado Christian shot rounds of 284 and 277 for a 561 (-7) to hold a one-stroke lead over the Buffs and host CSU Pueblo headed into Tuesday's final round.
 
Jack Lankford impressed with cards of 69 and 70 for a 139 (-3) highlighted by 10 birdies with six of the feathers coming in the opening round as the Randall High School product sits tied for sixth on the individual leaderboard. 
 
The Buffs will be paired with Colorado Christian, CSU Pueblo and Colorado School of Mines during Tuesday's final round with a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. CT. The event features five teams ranked inside of the Clippd Division II Poll with significant implications on the upcoming NCAA Postseason.
