CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M made moves up the leaderboard during Tuesday's final round of the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational (Par 70 – 6,915 Yards) at Amarillo Country Club.
Stetson Provence and
Luis Palomo led the way for the Buffs as they tied for ninth on the individual leaderboard with a score of 205 (-5). Provence shot a team-best 66 (-4) during Tuesday's final round with seven birdies while Palomo had six feathers of his own.
The Buffs took advantage of the home course and fielded two separate teams as they finished third (835, -5) and seventh (841 (+1) on the team leaderboard.
Oklahoma Christian shot rounds of 273, 266 and 275 on their way to a in impressive 814 (-26) to win the team championship by 17-strokes over Colorado Mesa. Cole Beyer of CMU birdied his final four holes on Tuesday to shoot a 63 (-7) as he won the individual crown (-13, 197) by one stroke over Kongpop Kaikaew of St. Mary's.
The Buffaloes travel to Palm Harbour, Florida next Monday and Tuesday as they take part in the Copperhead Championship hosted by the Universtity of West Florida at Innisbrook Resort.
