CANYON, Texas – The Buffaloes of West Texas A&M continue their fall schedule on Monday and Tuesday as they host the annual Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational at Amarillo Country Club (Par 71 – 6,915 Yards). Monday will feature 36-holes followed by the final round on Tuesday morning.
WT is coming off a second-place finish at the RJGA South Central Shootout last week in Ruidoso, New Mexico,
Stetson Provence led the way for the Buffs as the Amarillo native shot a 215 (-1) as he finished fourth overall.
The 16-team field for the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational features: Oklahoma Christian, Dallas Baptist, Midwestern State, Western New Mexico, UT Permian Basin, UT Tyler, St. Mary's, Colorado State-Pueblo, Cal State San Bernardino, Lubbock Christian, Colorado Mesa, Colorado School of Mines, Fort Lewis, UT Dallas, Texas A&M International and West Texas A&M.
Established in 1919, the Amarillo Country Club has been the home of relaxation and recreation for Amarillo's business and professional community for over a century. The beautiful grounds boast an impeccably maintained golf course; the first of its kind in the Texas Panhandle. The facility at ACC features a championship 18-hole layout which was completely renovated in 2012 by five-time PGA Tour winner D. A. Weibring and Golf Course Architect Steve Wolfard.
Ryan Palmer, an Amarillo native and current PGA Professional, created his foundation in 2003 which creates life-change and brighter futures for communities and underserved families by offering access to education, self-care and personal development. The Amarillo High School alum has registered four career victories on the PGA Tour to go along with 71 Top-10 finishes during his career.
