WT leads the all-time series against Angelo State 22-16-7 with the series starting in 1996. Last season, the Rambelles defended their home field with a 4-0 rout of the Lady Buffs in San Angelo. WT is 11-6-1 at home in the series along with 16-16-5 in conference play. The Lady Buffs are 3-2 in the last five meetings and 5-3-2 in the last 10.

The West Texas A&M women's soccer team battled with the UT Tyler Patriots on Saturday afternoon in Canyon before falling in the Lone Star Conference match up, 2-0.Ā Despite back-and-forth attacks from each team in the first half, neither side could put a shot into the back of the net. WT controlled momentum although both teams split possession on the field. At the end of the first half, the game remained scoreless with UT Tyler holding a slight advantage in shots. Ā WT cleared the ball away and looked to counter, but Sydnee Garner stole back possession. Garner wasted no time in creating space before rifling a shot into the corner of the goal. The Lady Buffs looked to answer with a goal of their own, but the UT Tyler defense thwarted each attack WT pieced together. The Patriots added to their lead in the 70
thĀ minute as Jacqueline Wiebe stole possession from the Lady Buffs. Wiebe took the ball down to the end line before chipping a pass to Ella Anderson who finished the ball.

SCOUTING (RV) ANGELO STATE
The Rambelles (9-1-4, 7-0-2 LSC) enter the contest after defeating No. 10 Dallas Baptist 2-1 to gain sole possession of the LSC lead. Against the Patriots, Angelo State a goal in the fourth minute followed by a 24
th minute score. DBU answered in the 75
th but couldn't find a tying goal. The Rambelles are led by Abby James with seven points on three goals and an assist and Madison Maxey with seven points on two goals and a team-leading three assists. In total, 12 different players have scored with eight players recording assists. In goal, Amber Lockwood has played all but 30 minutes of the team's 1,260 total. Lockwood has allowed seven goals with 43 saves on 94 shots faced for 0.51 goals against average, a .860 save percentage, and eight solo shutouts. As a team, Angelo State has 43 saves and seven goals allowed on 95 shots faced for 0.50 goals against average, 0.860 save percentage, and 10 shutouts.

LSC PRESEASON POLL
Dallas Baptist is selected to win its fifth consecutive Lone Star Conference championship after winning the regular season and conference tournament last season. The Patriots totaled 587 points and collected all but one of the possible 42 first-place votes. St. Mary's followed with 519 points with Angelo State (500), Texas Woman's (456), and Midwestern State (420) finishing out the top five. Texas A&M International (348), St. Edward's (1 fpv, 323), Lubbock Christian (278), Oklahoma Christian (234), and UT Tyler (216) occupy the sixth through 10
thĀ spots, respectively. WT (200), UT Permian Basin (176), Eastern New Mexico (88), and Sul Ross State (65) round out the preseason standings.

DBU's Taylor Tufts and Parker Coe were tabbed the LSC Preseason Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, respectively, while Texas Woman's Amanda Farris earned Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year honors.
