CANYON, Texas – The Buffaloes of West Texas A&M finished their fall schedule with an eighth-place finish at the Otter Invitational (Par 72 – 7,104 Yards) at Bayonet Golf Course in Seaside, California.
Victor Estas fired rounds of 76, 68 and 68 for a 212 (-4) to finish tied for second on the individual leaderboard, the sophomore from Kortenburg, Belgium had five birdies during Tuesday's final round to go along with an eagle on the 548-yard par five first hole.
The Buffs shot a 897 (+33) with rounds of 311, 292 and 294 to finish tied for eighth on the team leaderboard. Cal State East Bay claimed the team title with a 868 (+4) for a three-stroke win over Cal State Monterey Bay (+7, 871). Jack Hayden of Santa Clara shot rounds of 77, 65 and 69 for a 211 (-5) for a one-stroke win over Estas, Marius Dosiere of CSU-Pueblo and Ananjan Kaushik of CSEB.
The Buffs will return to the course on February 10-11 as they take part in the Houston Classic hosted by Southern Nazarene at the Golf Club of Houston.
