CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M concluded day two of the Jo Meaker Classic & Multi.
Laiten Greeson, of the Lady Buffs, won the heptathlon with a total 5,136 points. She completed eight events over a two-day period.
Elliot Harrison finished third with a few personal bests in the long jump and 100m hurdles.Â

The Buffs completed the decathlon with
Gerard Bryant taking second place with 6,904 points. Bryant finished first in the 100 meter and long jump.
Traise Cain finished fourth with a first-place finish in the 110 meter hurdles and had 6,089 points.Â

DAY TWO
The Jo Meaker Classic & Multi was in full swing with 23 events taking place on the track and field complex. Men's and women's high jump started at 3:00 p.m. with
Taylor Nelloms taking first with a jump of 1.70m and
Hamdi Ali taking first for the Buffs with a jump of 2.13m. Lady Buff,
Brooke Urban, and Buff, Seniru Amarasinge, also competed in the high jump and both finished in second place.Â

Seven student-athletes had personal bests after today's competition at the Jo Meaker Classic & Multi. The Lady Buffs had five personal bests including pole vaulters
Joey Zimmerman (3.50m) and
Bella Kenney (3.10m),
Hope Gray in the hammer throw (39.03m), 1500m race by Â
Anete Randma (4:56.89) and 800m race by
Raquel Chavez (2:12.37). The Buffs had two personal bests, both came from the hammer throw by
Jon Tucker (49.68m) and
Ethan Hollinshead (40.22m).Â
COMING UP TOMORROW
There will be 14 events tomorrow including the throws (shot put, javelin, discus), long jump and triple jump along with the sprints and relays.Â

There are many Lady Buffs and Buffs to watch tomorrow including our relay teams. The Lady Buffs have
Jordanae' Scott,
Leah Belfield,
Alana Wilson and
DeOndra Green running the 4x100. The Buffs will have
Kenyon Mosley,
Malick Diop,
Ohdel James and
Butare Rugenerwa running the 4x400 for the first time together.Â

The most competitors for the Buffs and Lady Buffs are in the 200m and 400m. A few athletes to be on watch for will be

The 100m dash will consist of stand-out Lady Buffs

Benjamin Azamati. In the same heat as Azamati will be

Joseph Manu and

A LOOK AT THE RANKINGS
The Lady Buffs moved one spot atop the DII standings to second in the nation with multiple top-10 performances nationally.Â

On the men's side, the Buffs rank third in the nation after jumping twelve spots from the previous national ranking, adding a pair of Top 10 efforts at the Texas Relays was
Joseph Manu running a 10.14 in the 100m andÂ
Jeremiah Lauzon placing tenth overall and ranking second in the nation in the 200-meter. Â
UP NEXT
WT will send a handful of student-athletes to compete in the Bryan Clay Invite on April 12-14 in Azusa, California while other athletes go to compete in the Ross Black Open from April 14-15 in Hobbs, New Mexico.Â
