RECORD BOOK

CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M Track and Field finished two meets this weekend, the Bryan Clay invitational and the Ross Black Open. There were two NCAA Division II broken records and multiple personal records broken this weekend. Eleonora Curtabbi has claimed both broken
NCAA records.

Eleonora Curtabbi competed in her main event, the steeplechase, and in the 1500-meter. She broke two NCAA Division II times at the invite only competition. Her teammates have dubbed her the steeplechase queen and it's obvious why with her time being 9:57.76 in the race. This is the first time Curtabbi has run a sub-10 in the steeplechase but certainly not her last. She is the fastest all-time at WT and the 6th fastest all-time in NCAA DII history.
She broke her own record set earlier in the year at the Texas Relays and now has the No. 1 and No. 2 fastest time in the steeplechase for this outdoor season. Her 1500-meter effort was 4:18.72. She owns the fastest record this season for WT, NCAA DII season, and 20th fastest all-time in NCAA DII history in the 1500-meter.
