CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M women's soccer host No. 17-ranked, and Lone Star Conference favorite, Dallas Baptist on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Buffs (1-3-4 overall, 0-1-2 LSC) and Patriots (5-0-2, 2-0-1 LSC) kickoff at 1 p.m. at The Pitch in Canyon.

All TIME SERIES
DBU leads the all-time series with WT, holding a 12-3-1 record. The Patriots enter the game on a seven-game win streak and have won 12 of the last 13 meetings. The lone meeting DBU hasn't one was a 0-0 draw in Canyon. The Lady Buffs' last win came on Sept. 23, 2010 in Canyon with a 2-1 defeat of Dallas Baptist.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Offense was hard to find for the Lady Buffs in a 5-1 loss to UT Permian Basin. WT took the lead in the 20th minute when Kyndahl Britton converted a penalty kick after Jasmine Gibson drew a foul inside the box. The Lady Buffs held onto their lead for the next 20 minutes before the Falcons tied the game before half. In the second half, the game went in favor of UT Permian Basin as the Falcons scored four unanswered goals on 10 shots.
 
SCOUTING #17 DALLAS BAPTIST
DBU comes to Canyon with a 5-0-2 record and 2-0-1 mark in Lone Star Conference play. The Patriots come off a 2-0 victory over Lubbock Christian last Saturday in Dallas. Taylor Tufts leads DBU with 14 points on three goals and eight assists. Michelle Gonzalez leads the way as the Patriots' leading goal scorer, netting five goals with two assists. In goal, Carmen Lopez has started all but one game for a total of 477 minutes. Lopez holds a 0.77 goals-against average and .789 save percentage with four goals allowed and 15 saves on 41 shots faced.
 
LSC PRESEASON POLL
Reigning Lone Star Conference champion Dallas Baptist picked up 37 of 39 possible first-place votes and 504 points to top the poll. Angelo State followed the Patriots in the standings with 457 points. WT finished third (one first-place, 412) while Lubbock Christian (351) and St. Mary's (339) rounded out the top five.
 
St. Edward's received the sixth spot with 318 points followed by Midwestern State (299) and UT Tyler (219). Texas A&M International (182) and Oklahoma Christian (149) finish the top 10 with Texas Woman's (127), Eastern New Mexico (114), and UT Permian Basin (78) conclude the rankings.
 
A LOOK AHEAD
The Lady Buffs remain at home for a 7 p.m. kickoff with Lubbock Christian on Wednesday, Oct. 11. Wednesday's match will serve as Youth Soccer Night for all fans.
