CANYON, Texas – As the end of the season draws closer, the West Texas A&M women's soccer team travels to rival Midwestern State for another conference matchup. The Lady Buffs, still winless in conference play, kickoff with the Mustangs at 1 p.m. at Stang Park.

All TIME SERIES
The Lady Buffs haven't played an opponent more than Midwestern State with the series starting in 1996. WT leads the series with a record of 25-23-3 overall, but the Mustangs hold a 15-6 record in Wichita Falls. Last season, the Lady Buffs met Midwestern State twice on the pitch. During the regular season, WT defeated the Mustangs 2-0 in Canyon. The script was flipped in the postseason as Midwestern State knocked the Lady Buffs out of the LSC tournament with a 2-1 victory.

LAST TIME OUT
The Lady Buffs put together their best game of the season on Wednesday but came up short against St. Edward's WT opened the scoring in the 12
th minute as
Mollie Ferro cleaned up a rebound off
Ashley Silvestre's initial shot. The Lady Buffs held on to the one-goal advantage until the 76
th minute when the Hilltoppers tied the game. St. Edward's gained the advantage three minutes later and added an insurance goal in the final minute to end the game, 3-1.

SCOUTING MIDWESTERN STATEÂ
Midwestern State comes off a bye after falling to No. 25 Dallas Baptist, 3-1. The Mustangs are currently in eighth place in the conference with the top seven making the league tournament. Lexi Beck leads MSU with 19 points on seven goals and five assists while Isabella Cruz follows with four goals. Lexi Jackson has accounted for 1,087 of the Mustangs' 1,350 minutes in goal. During that time, Jackson has 14 goals allowed and 35 saves on 133 shots faced for a 1.16 goals-against average and .714 save percentage.

LSC PRESEASON POLL
Reigning Lone Star Conference champion Dallas Baptist picked up 37 of 39 possible first-place votes and 504 points to top the poll. Angelo State followed the Patriots in the standings with 457 points. WT finished third (one first-place, 412) while Lubbock Christian (351) and St. Mary's (339) rounded out the top five.

St. Edward's received the sixth spot with 318 points followed by Midwestern State (299) and UT Tyler (219). Texas A&M International (182) and Oklahoma Christian (149) finish the top 10 with Texas Woman's (127), Eastern New Mexico (114), and UT Permian Basin (78) conclude the rankings.
