Lady Buffs, Bison Square Off in Shawnee on Tuesday

CANYON, Texas -- The West Texas A&M University women's soccer team hits the road once again, this time to the Sooner State. The Lady Buffs take on the Oklahoma Baptist University Bison at 6 p.m. in Shawnee on Tuesday.

All TIME SERIES
WT and Oklahoma Baptist have split the all-time series, 2-2. The Bison took the first meeting in 2017 with a 1-0 overtime win. Following a WT win in 2018, Oklahoma Baptist retook the series lead in 2019. Following a year break, the Lady Buffs returned to the win column with a 3-0 win in 2021.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Maria-Frances Serrant lifted the Lady Buffs to their third consecutive 3-0 win with her hat trick on Friday night. Serrant broke open the scoring before the first half ended with her right-footed strike in the 38th minute. Looking to push the pace in the game, Serrant scored two minutes into the second half to give WT a 2-0 lead. Serrant capped off her first hat trick in Maroon & White in the 84th minute, sealing the Lady Buffs' win.
 
SCOUTING OKLAHOMA BAPTIST
The Bison come off a 1-0 loss to Central Oklahoma in Shawnee. In that game, seven different Oklahoma Baptist players accounted for the Bison's seven shots. Of those seven, four reached on frame. On the season, Alanna Bloomingdale leads Oklahoma Baptist with a pair of goals. In goal, Mia Pendleton has played every minute so far, accumulating 16 saves with five goals allowed.
 
THRICE AS NICE
WT rides a three-game winning streak into its fourth contest of the season. In each of the wins, the Lady Buffs have won decisively by a score of 3-0. Three different players have accounted for WT's nine goals on the season.
 
NATIONAL OUTLOOK
Serrant leads the WT offense with 7.67 shots per game, ranking second in Division II, and third with 4.67 shots on goal per game. Teammate Asha James sits tied for 16th and 28th in the same categories. As a team, the Lady Buffs rank tied for third and fourth nationally in shots per game and shots on goal per game, respectively.
