CANYON, Texas -- The West Texas A&M University women's soccer team, 7-0 overall and 1-0 in the Lone Star Conference, travels to Dallas for a top-10 matchup with Dallas Baptist. The top-ranked Patriots enter with a 5-0-1 record, holding a 1-0-1 mark in conference.

All TIME SERIES
Dallas Baptist holds a 3-10-1 overall record in the all-time series with the Lady Buffs. WT won the first three meetings between the two schools before DBU won the next five. The Lady Buffs forced a draw in 2018 but the Patriots have won the past five meetings since.Â

LAST TIME OUT
The Lady Buffs were held to just one goal in the first half on eight shots against UT Permian Basin. WT started to find an offensive rhythm in the second half despite holding an advantage in shots throughout the game. In the 69th minute,
Reagan Matacale scored on a shot from 20-yards out to double the lead. 20 seconds later,
Alexsis Villarreal tapped in her first collegiate goal off a corner kick from Matacale. The Lady Buffs sealed the victory in the 76th minute when Matacale found
Maria-Frances Serrant off a free kick.

SCOUTING DALLAS BAPTIST
The No. 1-ranked Patriots come off an appearance in the NCAA Semifinals last season but feature a different look than a year ago. Annie Severide leads DBU with for goals on 16 shots, adding in an assist as well. The Patriots also have three players with three assists each. In goal, Adrianna Schroeder has accounted for 506 of DBU's 540 minutes of play. In that time, Schroeder holds a 0.89 goals-against average on five goals allowed.

NATIONAL STANDINGS
WT moved up one spot in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II Top-25 poll despite having a week off. The top-10 saw a shift in teams, but Dallas Baptist remained atop the rankings. Embry-Riddle moved up one to No. 2 while Columbus State moved into the third spot. Central Missouri took over No. 4 with West Chester staying at No. 5. Point Loma Nazarene and Grand Valley State occupy the sixth and seventh spots, respectively. Southern New Hampshire moved from 13th to eighth while Catawba held firm at No. 9.

NATIONAL OUTLOOK
In her first season at WT, Serrant has proven to be a force up front. Through seven games, the sophomore leads Division II in goals per game (1.57) and points per game (3.43). In goal,
Reagan Heelan has locked down opponents. In 621 minutes, Heelan has a conference-best and nationally top-10 goals-against average (0.145) and save percentage (0.969).

A LOOK AHEAD...
The Lady Buffs travel down I-27 for their Rivalry on the Range matchup with Lubbock Christian. The Chaps host WT at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28 at the LCU Soccer Facility.
