Ruby Salzman added to her resume as the Lady Buff was named a CoSIDA Division II Softball Academic All-American announced on Tuesday morning.  Salzman picked up Second Team honors and was one of eight student-athletes to repeat as an Academic All-American selection.Â

The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2021-22 Division II Academic All-America® program.Â
To be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.3 cumulative grade point average and not be in their first year at their respective institution. The Northridge, Calif. native has maintained a 3.55 GPA while majoring in health sciences.Â
Salzman was a key part of a Lady Buffs squad that made their 13
th consecutive trip to the Lone Star Conference Championship tournament.  The NFCA All-Region selection was one of the top hitters in the conference as she landed in the Top 15 in five offensive categories this season. During her four years in Canyon, the centerfielder has appeared in 165 games where she is hitting .384 with 41 doubles, six triples, 41 home runs and 160 RBIs. Â
